Manual Transmission
In this manual transmission system we will have 5 or 6 gears & a reverse gear according to the engine. Here the horizontal line in the image shows the neutral position between 3 & 4 gears
To know whether gear is in neutral position ....
The gear rod will have more play when compared to that when its on gear.
for example when the gear is in any level there will be no play (mean the rod will not play left or right).
The gears which are front will have odd priority (1, 3, 5). The gears which are back will have even priority (2, 4, 6 or R).

- Now let us see how these gears are to be shifter according to the speed and use:
- 1st - 2nd 10 km/hr.
- 2nd - 3rd 20 km/hr.
- 3rd - 4th 40 km/hr.
- 4th - 5th 50 km/hr.
- In this way we should use gear speeds and while changing these gears also we should use clutch and then only we should change the gear.
